A SUMMER GATHERING IN HATCLIFFE - KAY ROTHERY

Our Summer Garden Party saw a welcome return to Hatcliffe after many years, thanks to Sally Vergette and her family, who made us all feel very much at home in her mother’s beautiful family house. Situated in the heart of the pretty Lincolnshire Wolds, and blessed with a partially sunny Sunday, we were greeted on arrival with a glass of bubbles. After much lively catching‑up with friends, we proceeded to enjoy John Farrow’s local lamb from the BBQ — cooked to perfection by Peter and Will — accompanied by salads and puddings from members, making for a delightful lunch.

A happy, relaxed atmosphere settled over the afternoon as we all appreciated the good company, interesting wine and delicious food. Several brave souls even took advantage of the enticing swimming pool later in the day as the sun made a longer appearance.

Enormous thanks to Sally, Peter and Will for looking after us all so well during our visit. It was an extremely successful gathering, much enjoyed by everyone.
